A pair of late 19th Chinese elm elbow chairs of a good colour in wonderful condition - the shaped splats with carved and pierced "swastica" roundels - Swastica is derived from the Sanskrit words Su (good) and Asti (fortune) - so denotes prosperity and a symbol of luck in major Eastern religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism.
