Stock no 300 001

A good early 18th century George I figured walnut chest with herringbone crossbanding to the top and drawer fronts and cross-grained mouldings on the edges of the carcase front. The brass handles and escutcheons to the oak lined drawers are later replacements as are the shaped bracket feet as would have originally stood turned bun feet evidence of which can be seen on removal of the bottom drawer. The sides again are of a beautiful colour and the veneers book-matched.

Backboards replaced over the years probably due to being up against a damp wall.
